We've organized a selection of Bibles from word-for-word translations to thought-for-thought translations. It's also important to keep in mind that a more literal Bible translation is not necessarily more accurate, especially if it's difficult to understand, leading modern readers to misinterpret it. For daily reading and Bible study, we recommend using a Bible translation that emphasizes the importance of being both literal and readable, such as the ESV, CSB, or NIV. It can also be incredibly helpful to use more than one translation when reading various passages, as you can get a better understanding reading between a word-for-word translation and a thought-for-thought translation.
