Where digital creativity meets functionality.
My journey into web design began as a self-taught endeavor during my junior year at Texas Tech University, where I would spend hours in the College of Visual and Performing Art’s library, learning to code between my communication design and art history classes. This passion quickly translated into a professional role post-graduation, where I worked as a web developer and graphic designer at an ad agency, creating award-winning websites.
Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of developing websites for various clients, from local business to large organizations, some of which have won multiple Addy awards. While NDAs prevent me from showcasing all of my work, the projects displayed here reflect my dedication to innovative web design and development. From leveraging popular platforms like Squarespace and Wordpress to implementing complex server-side scripting and APIs, each project represents a unique blend of aesthetics, functionality, and user experience.
Austin W. Duncan Website
This website is a testament to my personal style and technical skills. Developed on Squarespace, this site goes beyond standard templates, incorporating custom and self-hosted server-side scripting, JavaScript enhancements, and unique plugins. This combination of customized elements ensures that this website is not just a digital portfolio and platform for spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ, but also as a pursuit of excellence to create with the best of my God-given abilities.
New Hope Community Church Website
For New Hope Community Church’s website, the focus was on user-friendliness and design. Developed on Subsplash’s platform, the site utilizes custom HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to enhance functionality while maintaining an intuitive user experience. This project underscores my commitment to creating websites that are not only visually appealing but also accessible and easy to navigate for all members of the church community.
Cameron Looby Landscaping Website
This website is featured here as it represents a significant leap in the landscaping industry and what effective web development can do in the industry. Built on the Squarespace platform, this site is heavily enhanced with self-hosted server-side scripting, pulling data from a variety of APIs including Google Analytics, Google Calendar, and OpenWeatherMaps, among others. It also utilizes JavaScript libraries such as D3.js, GSAP.js, and Node.js, as well as Python libraries like NLTK.py and spaCy.py. This amalgamation of technologies creates a dynamic, data-driven user experience, setting a new standard for landscaping websites in terms of functionality, user engagement, and design innovation.
